Engineers and technologists for the digital economy
Engineering degrees and industry-aligned majors — a connected pathway from foundation diploma to research master's, delivered online and blended, worldwide.
American academic rigour, real-world relevance
The School of Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences (ETAS) at Wilmington Metropolitan University is a dynamic, industry-focused school committed to developing highly skilled engineers and technology professionals for the digital economy.
We combine American academic rigour with strong regional relevance across our campuses around the world, emphasising hands-on learning, innovation, interdisciplinary skills, and real-world application.
ETAS brings together the University's information and communications technology qualifications and its engineering degrees under one school — a connected pathway from foundation diploma through to advanced master's-level study.
From foundation diploma to research master's
From an entry-level diploma to a research-focused master's — with an Integrated 4+1 Pathway that earns a bachelor's and master's in five years.
| Qualification | Level | Duration | Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diploma in Information Technology | MQF Level 4 | 2 years | Foundation IT skills and a pathway to degree study |
| Bachelor in Information Technology | MQF Level 6 | 3 years | Applied IT for industry roles |
| BS Eng in Digital Systems | Bachelor | 4 years | Engineering foundation plus deep specialisation |
| Integrated 4+1 Pathway PATHWAY BS Eng + MEng or MS Eng | Bachelor + Master | 5 years total | Both degrees in five years — practice-oriented (MEng) or research-oriented (MS Eng) final year |
| Master of Engineering (MEng) in Digital Systems | Master | 1.5–2 years | Practice-oriented, industry-focused |
| Master of Science in Engineering (MS Eng) in Digital Systems | Master | 1.5–2 years | Research-oriented, academic pathway |
One shared foundation, your route
All three degrees share the same engineering foundation and the same choice of majors — giving consistent pathways from undergraduate through advanced practice or research.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Digital Systems
BS Eng + Master of Engineering (MEng)
Master of Science in Engineering in Digital Systems
The Integrated 4+1 Pathway
High-achieving students can earn both a bachelor's and a master's degree in just five years — choosing a practice-oriented (MEng) or research-oriented (MS Eng) final year.

Led by a practitioner, from the front
ETAS is led by Foundation Head of School Osben Oji — a systems & telecommunications network engineer, cybersecurity specialist and principal ICT educator with three decades of practice.
Honest about where we stand
Wilmington Metropolitan University holds institutional accreditation from ASIC for the 2023–2027 term and is a California-registered American institution, actively pursuing further recognition in the jurisdictions in which it operates. ETAS engineering programmes are not currently accredited by ABET or a Washington Accord signatory; recognition for professional registration varies by jurisdiction and may depend on individual competency assessment. Please confirm the status of a specific programme with the ETAS admissions team before enrolment — see our Enrolment Terms.
