About
Osben Oji is Foundation Head of the School of Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences — a systems & telecommunications network engineer, cybersecurity specialist and principal ICT educator with three decades of practice. He holds a Master of Networking, majoring in Cybersecurity, from the Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT Australia), where he was formally recognised for outstanding academic achievement in his final trimester. He has since completed the Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) to strengthen his instructional leadership. Across senior teaching and engineering roles with Canterbury Technical Institute, Milcom Institute, Nova Institute of Technology, The Imperial College of Australia and Harvardbridge Communications — where he serves as Principal Engineer and Lead Educator — Osben has designed and delivered ICT, cybersecurity and telecommunications programmes for more than five hundred learners, built a full Smart Campus digital learning ecosystem from the ground up, and maintained a 100 per cent audit compliance record across every vocational programme he has led.
Teaching focus
Osben teaches and supervises across cybersecurity, network engineering, systems engineering and applied telecommunications. His pedagogy bridges vocational and higher-education pathways, giving students both the theoretical grounding to progress academically and the industry-current competence to be employable from graduation. His instructional design aligns to the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) at Levels 4–5, and draws on the Essential Eight Maturity Model, the Australian Cyber Security Strategy 2023–2030 and current Australian Signals Directorate guidance.
Beyond the University
Osben has sustained more than twelve years of community leadership and pastoral mentoring across the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Queensland.
